Description
Toe-In
ITM Woodworking Vices feature Toe-in. Toe-in refers to the slight angle at which the jaws of a woodworking vice are aligned inward towards each other at the top. This design feature ensures that when you tighten the vice, the top of the jaws make contact first, gradually applying pressure downward along the entire length of the workpiece.
By having this slight toe-in, the workpiece is held securely without any tendency to lift or shift when pressure is applied. It helps prevent the workpiece from getting pushed upward or slipping out of the jaws, providing a more stable grip and better control while working on it. This is particularly useful in woodworking tasks where a secure hold on the workpiece is crucial for accurate cutting, shaping, or joining.
